Who are we and what services we provide
Prowers County Development, Inc. is comprised of business owners and managers who work within the communities of Bristol, Granada, Hartman, Holly, Lamar and Wiley. PCDI represents economic and business development interests within the county. PCDI board members work with city and county officials to bring new business and support expansion of existing businesses that contribute to economic growth. PCDI also supports entrepreneurial training, community enhancements projects and promotional endeavors that highlight local events and sites.
PCDI Mission Statement: Prowers County Development, Inc. shall be a community leader, enhancing and improving the economy of Prowers County through job creation and recruitment, improved infrastructure, and business enhancement.
Prowers County Development, Inc. provides a number of services to the communities and partners we serve, including the following programs:
New Business and Industry Location:
PCDI provides assistance to new business and industry to recruit, relocate or expand. We assist in finding appropriate sites or suitable buildings based on the clients’ needs. We provide assistance with any necessary permitting and help new developers walk through the process of planning, zoning, or environmental concerns as necessary. This service is provided to help them accomplish their goals in a timely fashion, with no surprises.
Business Consulting and Referral:
Prowers County Development, Inc. provides referral services to new or existing businesses seeking start-up or expansion assistance. We refer to several area agencies, including: The Small Business Development Center, SECED, SCEED and the Office of Economic Development and International Trade. Other partnerships for referrals include local banking institutions and various other service agencies, such as the Workforce Training Center, Chamber of Commerce, USDA and EDA are also part of our referral network.
Community Resource/Business Assistance:
We provide assistance and grant writing options and resources for community development projects. PCDI compiles and updates “community economic profiles” for a complete community overview. We coordinate and sponsor “Business Development” workshops or seminars as appropriate. We work with County and Municipal officials and staff as necessary to recommend expansion and improve infrastructure, utilities and recreational facilities.
Community Marketing and Promotion:
We develop and distribute community promotional materials, in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce, SECED, contributing partners and other organizations as deemed appropriate. We participate in Trade Shows and other events as appropriate to specific projects outlined. We assist business and industry with recruitment and advertising on an “as needed” basis as funding allows.
Enterprise Zone:
The Enterprise Zone Tax Credits are issued through SECED. However, it is a recruiting tool that PCDI uses as incentives for a new business.
